Italy Trips

Every year I lead small groups to Italy. We tour, cook with local cooks, visit with wine-makers and food artisans…and have a lot of fun! Here are some scenes of our travels.

Duette a Roma. Duane and Paulette (Duette) are loose in the eternal city, absorbing Rome’s irresistible rough charm. It’s easy to fall in love with spectacular ancient ruins, either towering, or strewn, or juxtaposed within the terra-cotta facades of the city. This is a short romp of deep stunning views and insider visits to the best of Roma. All photos and footage were shot by Duette, including portraits of the signature food that makes Roma a culinary capitol. Duane Spencer’s musical soundtrack follows and accents the city’s many faces and moods, capturing the very soul of Roma. Puglia, Italy in 2019 — land of the most olive trees in Italy, burrata, taralli, orecchiette, seaside towns, beautiful people, fantastic cooks!

In Sicily, I got to visit the town where my paternal grandparents are from. The food — like sciaccia and ragu with chunks of pork — were the same that I grew up with! We visited Cefalu, Palermo and Modica, too. Just great! Here’s a short video of the highlights.

My cooking tour in Venice in 2015. So many wonderful events, sights, dinners, and fun. Here are just some short highlights! Thank you to my wonderful group: Bonnie, Fran, Sherri, Marie, Louise, Lorraine, and Regina.

    • Hi Shirley, the schedule for Winter just went out this week and it’s now sold out…sorry! I will post any cancellations on the “classes” tab on the website — I also often post cancellations on my Chef Paulette Facebook page. Thank you!

  1. Thanks, great video! My husband and I decided to make gnocchi for the first time on xmas eve so your timing is perfecto! Nicely done.
